Children and young people's mental health must be a priority

mental well-being in children, strategy and policy

50% of adult mental health problems are already established by age 14 and 75% by age 21 - so tackling the mental health and well-being of the younger generation must be a priority for any government.

The UK Government announced earlier this year that a Green Paper (a paper that sets out policy change) for Children and Young People will be published - this is expected in the Autumn. The paper should incorporate wide- ranging and holistic measures to address children and young people's mental health with clear actions for addressing poverty and inequality.
